Top coaches visit Wright

It has been a busy week for three-star 2006 prospect Larry Wright from Saginaw (Mich.) High School. Several coaches, including head coaches from two of the country's top programs, paid a visit to the 6-foot-2, 170-pound combo guard, who runs with the Michigan Mustangs during the travel season.
The week started with a visit from Arizona assistant coach Josh Pastner. Then on Tuesday, both Tubby Smith and Tom Izzo dropped by Saginaw High School. An assistant from Tennessee has also recently visited Wright, who presently has offers from Western Michigan and Central Michigan.

This past season Wright put up an impressive stat line for Saginaw, which made it to the state final four. He averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals, while shooting an impressive 93 percent from the free throw line.
"Larry is a very special talent," said Saginaw head coach Lou Dawkins, who played for Tubby Smith on a Tulsa team that made it to the Sweet 16. "He's a very good athlete with a 35 inch vertical. He can really shoot the ball and take you off the dribble. But what really sets him apart from other kids is that he has a very developed in between game. He handles well and is very versatile, but he is more of a scoring point guard.
"Defensively, he will lock you up. He has very long arms, is quick and anticipates well."
Wright, who will play for the Michigan Mustangs this weekend in the Charlie Weber event, needs to improve in one particular area of his game according to Dawkins.
"Larry needs to work on being aggressive and assertive on every offensive possession," said Dawkins. "He needs to be more selfish in a positive way."
