Shaun Pruitt, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound power forward from West Aurora High School in Aurora, Illinois recently retuned from an unofficial visit to Michigan State. While no commitment was given, it looks like the Spartans are the team to beat for Pruitt. Coach Tom Izzo and his staff couldn’t have done a better job in preparing for the two-day visit from the Illinois big man.
“My unofficial visit to Michigan State went real well,” Pruitt said. “I really enjoyed taking with Coach Izzo. Michigan State offered me a scholarship during my visit. They are definitely one of my top schools.
“The staff told me to take a few days and think about my visit,” he added. “There is a pretty good chance that I will end my recruitment pretty early. I don’t really plan on taking any official visits in the fall.”
While Michigan State appears to be the heavy favorite for Pruitt, they aren’t the only school being considered at this time.
“I really like Arizona and Illinois,” he added. “I haven’t heard from Arizona lately, but I do hear from Illinois quite a bit. I’m in the process of trying to arrange an unofficial visit to Illinois. If I do unofficially visit Illinois, I don’t know if any other visits will take place.”
Pruitt will be in Indiana next week (July 5-11) for the Nike All-American Camp, Las Vegas (July 22-26) for the Adidas Big Time and Orlando, Florida (July 26-31) for the AAU National Championships.
