Plenty of options for Rob Thomas
Rob Thomas, the 6-foot-6, 185-pound small forward from St. Thomas More High School in Oakdale, Conn., has seen several new schools become involved in his recruitment throughout the past few months. While the No. 62 ranked player in the class of 2006 is wide-open at this time, Thomas was quick to admit that he is seriously interested in four schools at this time.

“Everything is going well for me right now,” Thomas said. “We lost a game last night, but I feel that I played pretty good. We play in a big tournament this weekend, so I am definitely looking forward to those games.”
While Thomas is still in the early stages of his recruitment, the No. 15 ranked small forward in the class is currently receiving interest from Cincinnati, Connecticut, Iowa, Iowa State, NC State, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, Hofstra, Yale, Miami-FL, Georgia Tech, DePaul, South Florida, Florida State, Georgetown and St. John’s.
Because so many high major basketball institutions are showing a sincere interest in Thomas, he has decided to take his time with the recruiting process. The 6-foot-6 small forward also indicated that he is wide open in the recruiting process, but hinted that four schools in particular might be moving up his list.
“Miami-FL, South Florida, Florida State, Georgetown, St. John’s, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati and DePaul are some of the schools that have been recruiting me pretty hard lately,” Thomas said. “Miami-FL, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech and DePaul are the schools that I really like right now. I can also tell you that Miami-FL and DePaul are two schools that I definitely plan to officially visit.”
Until Thomas is ready to start making some decisions about his recruitment, he stated that he plans to work on his game. Most of the schools on his list are recruiting him as a shooting guard/small forward combo, so Thomas made it perfectly clear that he has been working on his perimeter game, especially his jump shot.
Thomas intends to take all five official visits before making a decision about his future.
