Palacios Picks Cardinals

As expected, Tello Palacios will be playing for Rick Pitino next year at the University of Louisville. The No. 30 player on the Rivals150 will hold a press conference on Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. EST to make it official, according to Ron Stelzer, head coach of Our Savior New American (N.Y.).
The 6-foot-8 forward had been a Louisville lean for the last couple of weeks so it comes as no surprise that he decided on the Cardinals. Palacios was also considering Baylor and Florida State. The Columbia native was also considering the NBA.

Palacios’s signing will help ease the blow of Sebastian Telfair’s decision to bypass college and play in the NBA next season. Pitino and Co. have reeled in a great class nonetheless. Four-star recruits Brian Johnson and Donta Smith (a JUCO star) and three-star prospects Terrence Farley and Lorenzo Wade round out the incoming class.
Palacios, Johnson and Smith will form a formidable trio on the Cardinal frontline next season. Palacios, when healthy, has shown glimpses of a former Pitino forward Jamal Mashburn.
