Notre Dame lands top-50 guard Prentiss Hubb

Notre Dame has been one of the better programs in landing some of the best talent out of the loaded DMV region in recent years. The ACC program did it again on Wednesday evening by landing the talents of 2018 lead guard Prentiss Hubb.

A 6-foot-1 junior guard that has an impeccable feel for the game but is also someone that can slide off of the ball thanks to his shot making acumen, Hubb announced his intentions to play his college ball in South Bend beginning in the fall of 2018.

Taking an official visit to Notre Dame the last weekend of April, Mike Brey and his staff were able to land another highly acclaimed prospect out of the DMV. Thanks to his time spent in the area as both a player and a coach, the Irish have been able to land, in recent years, such talents as DJ Harvey, Jerian Grant and Martin Geben.

Selecting the Irish over Maryland, Virginia, Kansas, Villanova, and Syracuse, Hubb becomes the first commitment in the 2018 class for Notre Dame. A top-50 guard prospect nationally, the four star junior will likely step in and immediately take up the majority of the leftover minutes by Matt Farrell, a rising senior and top guard on next year’s Irish team.
