Jefferson vs. Davis At Super Showcase

One of the best individual matchups took place this afternoon at the Super Showcase in Orlando, Florida. “Big Baby” Glen Davis battled possible early NBA-bound center Al Jefferson in a quarterfinal playoff game held inside the Milk House at Wide World of Sports in Disney World.
Davis' team, the Sports Academy from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, defeated Jefferson’s team, the Jackson Tigers, 62-55. Davis’ team advances against the Family (Malik Hairston, Joe Crawford and company).

Here are the individual stats for both players:
Key notes: Davis picked up his fourth foul with about 30 seconds left in the third quarter. He then sat out for the first four minutes of the fourth quarter before returning. Offensively, Davis didn’t force the issue much while Jefferson took several perimeter shots.
Scorecard: A draw in the individual battle. But it’s a win for Davis in the team war. Davis stayed patient with his team and didn’t force the issue for the most part during the game. When posting up low and being double teamed, Davis usually found an open guard for a jumper.
Jefferson is a tremendous talent with quick feet and agility along the baseline. If he stays low in the post, he might have been able to pick up some more points. But both high school players are likely McDonald All Americans and will be a success in the future whether it is in college or in the NBA.
