Is Palacios Done With His Visits

After playing at the adidas/EA Sports Superstar game and the EA Sports Roundball Classic, Juan ‘Tello‘ Diego Palacios is done with his high school basketball career. Now the No. 23 player on the Rivals150 from Our Savior New American is looking forward to college. We caught up with him and got the latest on his recruitment.
Before playing in the all-star events, Palacios, a 6-foot-8, 250 pound forward, made a visit to Louisville. The Cardinals have been hot on his trail of late and Palacios finally had a chance to see the future Big East school up close and personal.

“It was nice, very good,” Palacios said. “I got a chance to see them practice about three times and really like that. The facilities were really nice.”
He also said the highlight of the trip was seeing Rick Pitino in action.
“He was pretty intense,” Palacios said. “He doesn’t waste anytime. If you want to get better, that is what you have to do.”
Palacios has also officially visited Baylor and Florida State. He said he is still contemplating a visit to Indiana, too. But that visit may not happen.
“I was going to visit over the last two weeks but it was spring break,” Palacios said. “Once I get home I’m going to think about everything that I’ve seen and if I feel like I need to go to Indiana, I will.”
With his uncertainty of a visit to Bloomington, it is easy to assume that Palacios may be leaning towards a school he has already seen. But he said that the field is even.
“There is no leader. There isn’t a top list. But I like what I’ve seen,” he said.
Mother nature has a funny way of making decisions for people. For Palacios, Mother Nature may dictate which road he’ll travel down. A wrist injury has slowed his performance over the last month and he told us his rehab may be longer than he expected. With that, any type of NBA audition may be hampered because he isn’t at full strength.
“It’s not good. I thought it was doing better but it really isn’t back to 100%,” Palacios said. “I don’t know how long it will take to get better.”
Whatever direction he decides on, be sure to stay tapped to RivalsHoops for the update.
