It was believed that Hardin would take his time with the recruiting process, but he might have a decision sooner that expected.
Hardin is receiving interest from schools like Arizona, California, Kansas, Oregon, USC, UCLA, LSU, Oklahoma State and Gonzaga.
While is list of suitors continues to grow, it will be a tough task getting him to leave the West Coast.
“DeVon is doing just fine,” Newark Memorial High School head coach Craig Ashmore said. “He is taking an official trip to California this (May 9-11) weekend and has taken unofficial visits to USC, Loyola Marymount and UCLA.”
Some of the top schools from around America stopped by Newark High School during the contact period in hopes being one of the schools that Hardin will consider officially visiting.
“Oregon, UCLA, Oklahoma State, California and Gonzaga all have quite a bit of interest in DeVon,” Ashmore said. “Coach Howland from UCLA was at one of his tournament games along with an assistant coach.
“I think DeVon is getting closer to a decision,” he added. “I believe that he could have a decision before the summer is over. He really likes the West Coast schools.”
Two months ago, Hardin was a player not a lot of people were talking about, but now he is a high major player that will be an absolute force at the next level.
If he continues to dominate his competition for the entire summer, he will eventually become one of the most heavily recruited players in the class of 2004.
