Georgetown locks up 2017 SG
Just over a week ago, class of 2017 shooting guard Tyler Foster made an unofficial visit to Georgetown and earned a scholarship offer. Now, his recruitment is over.

Wednesday evening, sources close to the situation confirmed to Rivals.com that the 6-foot-5 shooting guard from the Baltimore (Md.) Gilman School ended his recruitment by giving John Thompson III and his staff a verbal commitment.
Currently slotted as an unranked three-star prospect in the rising junior class, Foster is still relatively unknown outside of the Mid-Atlantic region, but that should be changing soon enough.
Rivals.com had the opportunity to evaluate at the recent New York stop of the Under Armour Association where he was playing with his travel team, Baltimore's Finest, in the 16U division.
Not only does Foster have good size for a shooting guard at 6-foot-5, but he also is a good athlete who can attack the rim off the dribble.
He is thin but wiry strong, has a nice pull-up jumper and shows good overall mechanics that suggest he should develop into a pretty good shooter from distance over the long haul.
Like many young players he will need to be a bit more consistent, but he has shown enough that he will be under consideration to make the next set of 2017 rankings when they are expanded -- most likely from a top 75 to top 100 at the end of June.
Foster is the first commitment for Georgetown from the class of 2017.
