THE RIVALS150: 2015 | 2016
It's good to be M.J. Walker these days.

A four-star wing the class of 2017, Walker already holds a pair of
offers to play basketball at the next level. Unlike most of his peers, he'll
also have the option to sign a football scholarship if he chooses to.
"For basketball, Auburn and West Virginia have offered,"
Walker said. "North Carolina is supposed to be talking to me soon. They
offered in football. I've been getting letters from Maryland and
Kansas for basketball. In football, I have offers from
Ole Miss, Miami, N.C. State, Louisville, and I think
Georgia may have offered too."
Walker, who made first-team all-region at wide receiver as a sophomore, is still
trying to figure out his game plan going forward as far as which sport he'll
play.
"I have tried to think about it," he said. "I haven't made a decision yet, but
if I can play both in college, that would be awesome."
Bruce Pearl made Georgia second home while at Tennessee and signed some
really good players out of the Peach State during his time in Knoxville, and
he's trying to duplicate that success at Auburn.
"It's an up and coming program," Walker said. "I haven't too close of a look
into them yet. I know they have a nice program. I think they have a good game
plan for they are going with their program."
West Virginia is trying to convince that Walker that his game fits their playing
style perfectly.
"I haven't seen their campus or anything yet, but I've talked to their coaches
and they have said I would be a great fit," he said. "They seem really cool."
The only school Walker has visited so far is Georgia, and he walked away
impressed with what he saw in Athens.
"It was a really nice. They have great facilities. They have a nice campus. I
met their head coach and he's a really cool dude. It's a nice program."
Only a sophomore, Walker says it will be a while before he dives too deep into
the recruiting process.
