Evans Looks to Oct. 11

The next big date in the recruitment of Tyree Evans is October 11 when the Richmond, Virginia shooting guard will take the SAT.
“I have not scheduled any official visits,” Evans said. “Everything is on hold until I take the SAT October 11th.”

Besides preparing for the SAT, football is occupying the 6-foot-2, 170-pound athlete’s time. Basketball, however, is still the sport of choice for Evans on the collegiate level.
“Football is what is going on now,” he said. “We have our first game Friday. I don’t really want to play both sports in college, but I am keeping my options open incase things do not work out in basketball.”
Cincinnati, Clemson, and Georgia are at the top of Evan’s list for basketball. He feels that the scholarship offers they have extended will be there regardless of how the SAT test goes.
Clemson, Miami, Virginia, and Virginia Tech are the schools Evans listed as looking at him for football.
“More people say I am better at football than I am at basketball,” he said. “I can play football at that level.”
Evans is currently the No. 18 shooting guard and No. 79 player in the Rivals150.
