In the midst of more and more schools beginning to him after his strong play during the July evaluation period, Sam Dower of Osseo (Minn.) High School has cut his list to five schools.
Gonzaga, George Mason, Marquette, California and Minnesota are the five finalists.
"I don't really have a favorite," said Dower, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound power forward. "Staying close to home would be nice for my family, but where the school is located isn't really a factor."
What is important is finding a program with a comfortable fit.
"The right fit with the coaches, players and style of play is important," he said. "I want to play somewhere where the big guys play inside and outside."
Not necessarily committed to use all five official visits, Dower said he could commit as soon as he finds the fit he is looking for.
Only one visit, an early September visit to Gonzaga, is scheduled at this point.
