2006 Tyus Has Top Four

2006 prospect Alex Tyus is hearing from some big time high major programs. The 6-foot-7, 210-pound small forward from Hazelwood Central High School in Florissant, Missouri already has a top four.
“I am getting mail from a lot of people,” said Tyus. “Some of the ones I remember are Mississippi State, Florida, North Carolina, UCLA, Arizona, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois.”

“Right now my top four are UCLA, Florida, North Carolina, and Arizona.”
Tyus had these comments about his top four schools.
On UCLA: “I’ve been on the campus, and it is really nice. Their new coach seems real cool.”
On Florida: “I’ve always been a Florida fan. I like Coach Donovan a lot and the style of play he runs. I’ve been down there to Gainsboro, and it’s a nice town.”
On North Carolina: “I like their tradition. It would be a good feeling to go there. They are always good and competitive.”
On Arizona: “I have always liked Coach Olsen and their style of play. I like how they get up and down the floor. I also like how they give their big men the freedom to play inside and outside.”
As Tyus works to improve his game, his focus is on developing his small forward skills.
“Since this is the first year I have played on the wing, I am working on my perimeter skills,” he said. “I am working hard on my ball handling and my jump shot.”
“My strengths are my athleticism and getting to the hole. I can do a lot of things on the court, and I feel I have a flair for the big play.”
