CHICAGO – When it comes to personality, few in the class of 2017 can match five-star center Brandon McCoy. Few can match him on the court either. Now, five programs are left trying to lock up his services.

Though he's been in San Diego for his high school years, McCoy is actually a native of Chicago and excited to he in his hometown for the McDonald's All-American Game.

"Playing in the United Center is what I'm looking forward to," McCoy told Rivals.com. "This is my home city and I have so many friends and family here that are coming to see me. I just can't wait to show them what I've been working on because they haven't seen me in a long time."

He's also working on narrowing things down among Arizona, Michigan State, Oregon, San Diego State and UNLV.

"The biggest thing that is going to help me make my decision is me being comfortable with the staff as well as the team," he said. "Also I play music and I want to take that further in college and learn more stuff. I just want to win and be great so whoever is going to develop as a person and as a player is going to sell me."

IN HIS WORDS

Oregon: "Oregon is a really good organization. Dana Altman is a great coach and I love all those players. I texted Jordan Bell the other night and said, 'Man you've inspired me to play harder' just after watching him play. When I went out there for a visit I felt comfortable there and you know my brother went there so that's a plus."

UNLV: "My relationship with the coaching staff is really great there. Shout out to coach (Brandon) Mason and the rest of the staff, they're doing a great job recruiting me. My friend Anthony Smith is a JUCO player that just signed with them so they're doing some good things there right now. They're rebuilding and they're going to be good."

Arizona: "Me and DeAndre Ayton played together in AAU and we've lived together since the eighth grade so automatically there's that chemistry. Sean Miller and coach (Joe) Pasternack are doing a great job recruiting me and to have those two coaches recruit me and want me to play for them is an honor. "

Michigan State: "They say 'McCoy's our boy' and that's kind of smooth so they get points for that. Michigan State has a Hall of Fame coach in coach (Tom) Izzo and he's a great person. I never knew that coach Izzo was that cool and so nice and to play for him would be amazing."

San Diego State: "It's the hometown school. My family's there and no one has to move. Coach (Steve) Fisher is a Hall of Fame coach as well. I love his history with the Fab Five and they made it to the Sweet 16 a couple years back so maybe I could go in and help them do it again"
