CHICAGO -- One of the premier scorers in the class of 2017, five-star shooting guard M.J. Walker, is still available. From the sounds of it, he's in no rush to make a decision.

A well-built 6-foot-4 scorer from Jonesboro (Ga.) High, Walker is first trying to enjoy his experience at the McDonald's All-American Game.

"It feels good," Walker told Rivals.com. "It's a prestigious honor to play in this game. Just being here is exciting and I'm ready to go."

What most people care about with Walker right now, though, is where he stands with his recruitment.

Georgia Tech and Florida State have been the mainstays in Walker's recruitment and the Seminoles are the only program he's visited officially.

"It was nice and I had a good vibe with the coaching staff and the players," said Walker. "Just seeing how I would fit in their system. They got a couple of guys leaving this year Jonathan Isaac and Dwayne Bacon so I feel like I would fit well in their system."

During his first year at Georgia Tech, Josh Pastner's team surprised. They've also made a big push to get involved with Walker and have had him on campus unofficially.

"(Pastner) has been on me pretty hard," Walker said. "He'll text me here and there, he'll DM me on Twitter. He will text my dad. He's put us in a group chat telling us, 'M.J. we want you to come in and you can change the program around, you fit well in our system' and things like that."

Though FSU and Tech appear to be way out ahead of the field, Walker also listed UCLA, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Ohio State, Kansas and UNLV as a few of the schools he is still considering and says that he would like to take a few more visits.

Exactly when any visits might happen is unknown, but Walker isn't afraid to take his time.

"It will probably be between April and May," said Walker. "If it comes to the last day then so be it, but I want to commit between that time and get it going."
