Jalen Carey, one of the hardest playing and most talented guards on the East Coast, narrowed his school list to a group of six last week. Carey, ranked No. 52 in the 2018 class, will play his college ball at Syracuse, UConn, Miami, Kansas, Villanova or Rutgers.

The leader for the always talented New Jersey Playaz unit this past summer, Carey never lacks a scoring punch. He averaged more than 18 points and shot 43 percent from three-point range, along with three rebounds and two assists per game on the Nike circuit.
Coming down the stretch with his college recruitment, Carey has set up four official visits.
· Miami: Aug. 25
· UConn: Aug. 30
· Syracuse: Sept. 8
· Kansas: Sept. 29
A final official visit could be taken to Rutgers or Villanova, though things remain up in the air. The Scarlet Knights did receive the commitments of Montez Mathis and Mac McClung last week, two guards that could knock them out of the mix. Villanova may begin to recruit Carey more hastily now that it missed out on one of its primary guard targets earlier this week, Jahvon Quinerly.
Look for a fall commitment and a signing this November.
