IN HIS OWN WORDS

Jones' Linden team sits at 18-3 overall. He spoke further on his season at hand.

“It has been good. Last year we went pretty far. We are a good team, well coached and it has been fun so far,” he said. “I attack the basketball well. I just try to get into the paint and work from inside-out.”

A number of schools have shown interest Jones.

“I have interest from Stanford, Marquette, Rutgers, Virginia and many others,” he said. “I have offers from St. Peter's, Seton Hall and St. Joe’s.”

The first high-major program to offer, Seton Hall, has caught Jones’ eye early in the process as the Pirates have remained a presence at his games this winter.

“It is good. They keep in contact. They’re very caring and very supportive and I really appreciate that.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

Jones, ranked No. 140 in the 2018 Rivals150, is focused first and foremost on finishing his high school season on a high note.

“I am taking the process slowly and enjoying the moment,” he said. “I am just focused on the high school season and I will take care of the college thing after that.

In the spring and summer months, look for Jones to be on the Nike EYBL circuit running again with the New Jersey Playaz.

RIVALS' REACTION

Jones is very versatile in the backcourt, can score the ball in various ways, defends multiple spots on the court and, because of his ability in the classroom, has brought in some of the higher academic schools into his recruitment. Expect for his recruitment to pick up further this spring.
