Kobe Brown possesses one of the more unique skillsets in the 2019 class. The four-star prospect comes in at roughly 6-foot-6 and 225 pounds, and possesses the versatility to play multiple spots on the offensive end because of his ball handling and shooting ability.

It’s for that reason college basketball coaches have been blowing up his phone since June 15, the first day prospects in the 2019 class could receive calls and texts from coaches. Auburn, Baylor, Georgia, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and several more have been in contact. Additionally, he made a recent visit to Georgia and has been to Auburn, Kentucky, LSU and Ole Miss in the past.

IN HIS WORDS

Auburn: “I like Auburn a lot. It’s real nice. Their campus is really nice. All the athletic stuff is nice and close together.”

Georgia: “I like what they have going on. They really care about their players a lot. I talked to coach (Mark) Fox too. We sat in his office and talked for a while. I saw a couple workouts too.”

Kentucky: “They have high interest. I haven’t heard from them lately, but they’ve talked to my high school coach. I like their campus a lot. I like their team. I like coach Cal (John Calipari) as an overall person. I got to see them practice and he’s intense at all times.”

Oklahoma: “They have been on me for a while. It’s a real nice program. I like what they have going on. The campus is real nice and clean and everything is close together.”

WHAT’S NEXT?

Brown wants to get out and see more schools, but doesn’t have any planned right now. He said all a school needs to do to get him on campus is simply ask. Next month he’ll be back to playing with the Atlanta Celtics 17-under team in the adidas events in both South Carolina and Las Vegas. He’s nowhere near making a decision.

RIVALS’ REACTION

Right now, the three schools that seem to be in best position with Brown are Auburn, Georgia and Oklahoma. Each school has had him on campus for an unofficial visit, and each school has been aggressive in staying in touch with the Huntsville, Ala., native. It doesn’t appear anything is imminent with Kentucky getting seriously involved, but like with most top basketball recruits, if Big Blue Nation does come calling, this one could end relatively quickly.
