Conference Call: Weekend's biggest official visits in each league

The recruiting world slows down a bit this weekend thanks to the USA Basketball Trials that are taking place in Colorado Springs. Still, there are a few prospects hitting the road this weekend. We highlight the top visit per power league in this week’s conference rundown.

ACC: NORTH CAROLINA

North Carolina is on cloud nine thanks to the commitment of top-five small forward Nassir Little, the highest-ranked recruit to pledge to Roy Williams’ bunch since Harrison Barnes. The Tar Heels will attempt to strike again in the Sunshine State this weekend as they host Rivals150 four-star forward Darius Days. A hard-playing, multi-dimensional and productive forward that plays much bigger than his 6-foot-7 listing, Days would be another offensive rebound weapon that would flourish in Williams’ up-tempo system. North Carolina is playing catch-up though, as LSU remains the school to beat. Days moved up his visit to Baton Rouge to next weekend, likely the last visit that he will take before coming to a fall decision.

Georgia Tech: Talen Horton-Tucker

NC State: Saddiq Bey

BIG EAST: PROVIDENCE

David Duke

It is a huge weekend for the Friars as they attempt to cap another sparkling recruiting class. Providence has already celebrated the commitments of three-star forwards Kris Monroe and Jimmy Nichols, along with Rivals150 four-star wing AJ Reeves. The Friars will host top-50 guard David Duke this weekend. He will get another look at the Big East program as it is located less than 10 minutes from where he grew up. It looks to be a two-horse race between the Friars and Virginia Tech for Duke, who is expected to decide after his visit to Providence. Armando Bacot, a five-star 2019 big man, will also be on Providence’s campus this weekend.

Marquette: Joey Hauser, Rocket Watts, Nobal Days, DJ Carton, DJ Carton, Isaiah Jackson, Jamari Sibley

BIG TEN: OHIO STATE

Will Richardson

The Buckeyes have been rolling recently and despite missing on Noah Locke and Andrew Nembhard this past weekend, Ohio State is hoping it can finish out its 2018 class this weekend. In need a playmaking lead guard that can both score and distribute, the Buckeyes will host four-star senior Will Richardson this weekend. Chris Holtmann and his staff have already nailed down the commitments of shot-making guard Duane Washington Jr., athletic shooter Justin Ahrens, and alpha-dog defensive cog Luther Muhammad; Richardson would create a strong four-man perimeter core that the Buckeyes could lean on heavily.

Iowa: Mario McKinney

Michigan: Alonzo Gaffney, Harlond Beverly, Jalen Terry

Nebraska: Zeke Nnaji, Ty Terry

BIG 12: OKLAHOMA

Jamal Bieniemy

Oklahoma is not messing around this weekend and while the football program should produce a crooked number on the scoreboard against Iowa State on Saturday, the basketball program will be doing its best to get a leg up in the younger classes. First, the Sooners’ coaching staff will bring in Rivals150 commit Jamal Bieniemy to campus for an official visit, along with Ousmane Ndim, a 6-foot-9, hard playing and mobile center. Oklahoma will also be hosting a slew of highly-ranked prospects in the 2019 and 2020 classes. Malik Hall, a 6-foot-6 small forward, will head to Norman, along with fellow Rivals150 juniors Jordan Turner and Drew Timme. In the 2020 class, Rivals50 prospects N’Faly Dante and Bryce Thompson will also be on campus.

PAC-12: UCLA

Jules Bernard

The Bruins have been rather silent this recruiting cycle but that could all change this weekend. UCLA commit David Singleton will take his official visit to Westwood and Steve Alford is hoping that the 2018 standout might dish out his first assist as a Bruin. Joining Singleton will be Jules Bernard, one of the top bucket-getting wings in the 2018 class. Bernard was expected to visit Oregon this weekend before heading to UCLA, but his plans changed and now UCLA will be the lone visit for the four-star prospect.

Oregon: Eric Ayala

SEC: VANDERBILT

Simi Shittu

Vanderbilt is on the cusp of putting together arguably the best recruiting class in school history. The program already has a commitment from shot-making Rivals150 wing Aaron Nesmith, and it will host five-star power forward Simi Shittu this weekend. Shittu’s commitment to Vanderbilt would create major headway for the program during the early stages of the Scott Drew era in Nashville. North Carolina remains the program to beat for Shittu, but Vanderbilt, after a solid weekend, could pass the blueblood. Outside of Shittu and Nesmith, Vanderbilt sits in a great spot with five-star lead guard Darius Garland and remain the darkhorse for five-star shooting guard Romeo Langford.

Florida: Keyontae Johnson, Deuce Dean, Corey Walker

Georgia: Landers Nolley

Texas A&M: Will Baker, Jalen Wilson, Avery Anderson, Sahvir Wheeler
