Young Prospects at National Christian

The word is getting out about National Christian Academy’s super sophomore Kevin Durant, ranked No. 22 in the Rivals50. But Coach Trevor Brown believes he has two other young players that everyone will know about by the end of this summer.
Out of the class of 2005 is 6-foot-3, 190-pound combo guard Jesse Sapp. Out of the class of 2007 is 6-foot-7, 220-pound power forward Wilbur Oneil.

“Arkansas is calling about Jesse,” said Coach Brown. “Connecticut is sending lots of mail. LaSalle is coming down to watch him practice. And Georgetown is starting to show interest.”
“Jesse was averaging 13 points coming off the bench, but now that he is starting, he is averaging 15 points. He is a good athlete who can handle, score, and has great court savvy. He is one of those guys that no one really know about till the summer.”
Another player that Coach Brown has a lot of praise for is his transfer freshman big man Wilbur Oneil.
“He is athletic and agile,” said Coach Brown. “He is as strong as an ox and plays both ends of the court. He can score and defend. He has a nice shot and around the basket he is a force.”
“He is transferring in and will play varsity for us. This summer he will play for the Squires.”
