York planning to take spring visits

The spring AAU schedule is going to be busy for Gabe York but the Orange (Calif.) Lutheran shooting guard is trying to figure out some visits with his Compton Magic coach Etop Udo-Ema during weekends when things aren't going on.
York, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect, said he wasn't sure of exact destinations yet but that he'd strongly consider going to Georgetown and Connecticut or possibly Notre Dame and Marquette.

Lots of schools are after York and soon he should figure out where he's headed over the next couple months.
"I'm going to go in March or April, Etop is going to come with me and we're going to visit some schools," York said. "I don't know which ones yet for sure but we're definitely going to be doing that.
"We're talking about Georgetown and UConn but we don't know if we're going to do that yet. Marquette and Notre Dame are also possibilities and the ones out there that are talking to me but we don't know which ones we're doing yet.
"We're going to do it on weekends where I don't have any tournaments. I'm going to be playing with Compton Magic so we're going to do it during weekends when nothing is going on."
York, one of Southern California's top 2012 prospects, is rated as the seventh-best shooting guard and No. 41 prospect by Rivals.com.
A bunch of schools from across the country are recruiting him including a bunch of Pac-10 programs but York said this will be his chance to see some places outside of that conference.
The visits could help York decide what will best suit him moving forward.
"When Etop called me and my mom and talked to us about doing it I was super excited just because I've never been on a recruiting trip outside of the state," York said. "That was big for me.
"I really don't know about favorites. I definitely want to visit Georgetown and UConn just to get a feel for what it's like. After I take these visits I'll have a better grasp of those things."
