The big news from the first day of the early signing period was the Michael Chandler's decommitment from Xavier. Not only did Xavier lose a top 50-ranked big man, but the Musketeers also fell out of the top 25 national team recruiting rankings.
Replacing Xavier in the rankings is Western Kentucky, the new top class outside of the Big Six conferences. The Hilltoppers slide into the No. 25 spot nationally.
The SEC is the top conference in the rankings with seven teams in the top 25 and also boasts the No. 1 team in Kentucky.
The ACC and Big East are neck and neck behind the SEC. Both conferences have four teams representing them. The ACC has the No. 2 and 3 teams in Duke and North Carolina while the Big East has the No. 5, 6 and 7 teams with St. John's, Syracuse and Louisville respectively.
The Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac-10 each have three teams in the rankings with one team representing each conference in the top 10.
Western Kentucky represents the Sun Belt as the only non BCS team in the national rankings.
