Xavier picks up late night four-star commitment

Taking an early look at the new Big East, it looks as if conference members are putting a lot of value on shooters. Xavier landed one late Monday night.
While much of the nation was either dozing off to sleep or watching the San Diego Chargers gag their home opener, Chris Mack and his staff were landing four-star shooting guard J.P. Macura as he confirmed his decision via twitter.

A product of Lakeville (Minn.) North, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard burst onto the scene during the spring and summer with his grassroots team D1 Minnesota as he rose from unranked all the way to No. 104 in the Rivals150.
While Macura carries a well earned reputation as a shooter with range, calling him just a shooter is ignoring the rest of his game. The rangy athlete can put the ball on the floor, is good from mid range, finishes pretty well around the basket and has a mean streak in him that should serve him well.
Macura is the second member of the Rivals150 to make a commitment to Xavier. He joins three-star combo guard Edmond Sumner in the Musketeers 2014 recruiting class.
