Wyoming wing ready for July

It is not easy for a prospect from Cheyenne, Wy., to get exposure, but word is trickling out on 6-foot-8, 215-pound small forward James Johnson.
According to Coach Brian Williams of the Colorado Flight travel team, Johnson is hearing from Gonzaga, Wake Forest, Nevada and Fresno State. Wyoming and Montana State have offered scholarships, and there is also some interest coming from California, Washington and Connecticut.

"James can really put it on the floor," said Williams. "He is one of the more gifted prospects that I have seen. He can really get to the cup, and he's pretty comfortable shooting from outside.
"As far as his athleticism goes, he can jump out of the gym. At one of our recent workouts, he tested out with a 41-inch vertical."
Johnson, who attends Cheyenne East High School, will play at the Hoosier Shootout, the Kentucky Hoopfest, the Main Event in Vegas and the Best of Summer in Los Angeles with Colorado Flight during the month of July.
Coach Williams is convinced that coaches will like what they see in Johnson.
"He just needs one good game in a big tournament, and his recruitment will blow up."
