WVU Joins In Hunt For Kevin Bell

Kevin Bell, a 6'2'' 200 pound combo guard/point guard from Monroe College in The Bronx, New York, has elicited Division I interest with his performances this winter. If he can take care of things in the classroom, no doubt Bell will have scholarship offers awaiting him.
"Manhattan is after him hard," said Monroe coach Jeff Brustad. "Binghamton and Eastern Kentucky (have expressed interest), and West Virginia called recently."

Brustad said that Bell does not have any offers at the moment, seemingly because he still has a ways to go to qualify.
"He still has a lot of work to do academically," said Brustad.
Bell, who is averaging 15.9 points, 6.9 assists, and 3.1 rebounds for Monroe, currently ranked in the top 20 in the NJCAA Division I rankings, transferred into the Bronx program from Westark College in Westark, Arkansas. Bell averaged 16 points, five rebounds and four assists as a freshman at Westark.
Bell, who played his high school ball at Rice in Manhattan, initially committed to American University out of high school.
