Wright Down to Three

Small forward Julian Wright has been defending and finding the open man all summer, most recently at the Nike All-American Camp. Wright, 6-foot-8, 214-pounds, with an amazing 8-foot-10 reach, told Rivals.com during the camp that his college decision will be between three schools.
“It is down to Arizona, Illinois and DePaul,” said Wright, from Homewood High School in Flossmoor, Ill. “All three have offered, and I plan to take my visits in September.”

With his long reach, quick feet, and aggressive style of play, Wright is a terrific and versatile defender. His physical strength and long arms allow him to guard the shooting guard, small forward and power forward positions. He is also an impressive ball handler and ambidextrous passer. He can get to the basket for scores but has struggled this summer shooting from the outside.
Word from the Peach Jam in Augusta, Ga., however, is that he has started knocking down shots as well as doing the other things he's known for. Wright spoke about the importance of having confidence in his outside shots at the Nike Camp.
“I'm just trying to develop confidence in my perimeter game,” he said. “Confidence carries you so far. When I play with confidence, I can play with the best.”
Currently the No. 23 ranked player in the class of 2005, if the shots start dropping, his status as a prospect will rise even higher. Luckily for Wright, they're already high enough to get him the offers from his three top choices, one of which will be lucky to get his services.
