Wright Adds New School To His List

Julian Wright has seen one major change take place in his recruitment since returning from his official visit to Illinois. The 6-foot-8, 214-pound small forward from Homewood High School in Flossmoor, Ill., had recently trimmed his list of schools to three, but that list has now changed. The No. 10 ranked player in the class of 2005 is now considering four schools.
“My visit to Illinois went pretty good. I talked to all of the players, coaches, professors and academics advisors,” Wright said. “I also spent a lot of time with the coaching staff. It is definitely different seeing them in person instead of on television. It was a completely different situation, but one that I enjoyed.

“I am now getting ready to take an official visit to Arizona,” he added. “My visit to Arizona takes place this weekend. Once I have finished my visit to Arizona, I will take an official visit to DePaul during the weekend of September 17. I am definitely looking forward to both visits. I know that Arizona is a great program. It will be good to spend time with the players, coaches and also get a good look at the campus life.”
There was a time when it looked like the nations No. 2 small forward would decide between Arizona, Illinois and DePaul, but that is no longer the case. After talking it over with his family, Wright has decided to add a new school to his list.
“Kansas is the newest school that has been added to my list,” Wright said. “My mom has been talking to Coach (Bill) Self, so we decided to invite him to my house for an in-home visit. The visit will take place on September 9. I have no idea if I will visit Kansas or not. I just want to see how the in-home visit goes and then make a decision after that.”
