Woods: Top Three Special Visit

Houston Hoops standout Rashad Woods is ready to hit the AAU national scene this weekend at the Easter Classic in Las Vegas. The No. 22 ranked player in the class of 2005 also has a special guest coming to his house today.
"Coach Lute Olsen is coming to my house April 7th to talk with me and my mother,” said Woods, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound small forward out of Heritage Christian High School in Cleveland, Texas. “I’m looking forward to it."

Woods then plans to return the visit late in April.
"I will be visiting Arizona on the week of April 30th,” he said. “That is my only free weekend this summer. I will take the rest of my visits once school starts"
Connecticut and Illinois are the other two schools that Woods will most likely visit in the fall. He is presently listing those two schools along with Arizona as his favorites.
"My top three schools are UConn, Arizona, and Illinois,” he said. “I don’t have a favorite. They are all three equal."
“I like Uconn’s reputation. I also like the way they play. They get up and down like I like to play."
“I also like Arizona’s style. They give their wing players a lot of freedom. You don't have to be the point guard to bring the ball up the court in their style of offense. I also like their coaching staff. I have a real good relationship with Assistant Coach Josh Pastner. He has done a good job recruiting me."
“Illinois is showing a lot of interest in me. I talked to Coach Weber and he seemed like a real good guy. They want me to visit as soon as I can."
Woods, who has been putting in a lot of hours to prepare for this summer, is on a mission to prove that Houston hoops is one of the top AAU programs in the country.
"[Houston Hoops] Coach Henderson has helped me a lot,” said Woods. “We are working hard on my ball handling and shooting off the dribble. I'm also going to be working out with John Lucas from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM every morning this summer."
