Woods headed to the Big East

6-foot-8 junior forward Kraidon Woods from Pocono Mountain East HS in Pennsylvania has made his college decision and scheduled a press conference for Thursday to make the announcement. Woods is headed to the Big East and Rivals.com has the scoop.
Woods had a quiet weekend at the Playaz Spring Fling, but maybe that's because his college decision was weighing on him. Woods surprised a lot of people today by announcing that the decision has been made and scheduling the press conference.

"It really just came down to St. John's and Villanova, and in the end I felt like Villanova was the best place for me," Woods told us this afternoon on the phone. "They showed me a lot of love and I think they can make me a better player."
Woods told us that he had offers from St. John's, Rutgers, St. Josephs, and Penn State, and interest from the likes of Maryland, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and others. However, Jay Wright's Wildcats got it done in the end.
"I visited the campus before the season and spent some time with the team. I got to know Will Sheridan, Kyle Lowry, and Mike Nardi really well, plus Kyle and Will played with the Playaz when I first started with them," Woods said.
He's a long, athletic forward with some perimeter skills to boot. Woods was particularly impressive at the Hoop Group's Lehigh Valley Hoop Fest back in January as he showcased his perimeter shooting and ability to put the ball on the floor. He'll need to get stronger to play the power forward spot in the Big East, but he's already aware of that.
"I know that I need to hit the weights. If I can get stronger there's no limit to what I can do," Woods told us. "I just know that coach Wright is the type of guy who won't let me fail at the next level."
Woods will continue to play with the Playaz this spring and summer and is set to attend the Adidas Superstar Camp in July.
