Wolverines sign Udoh

After leaning towards going to prep school next year, three-star prospect Ekpe Udoh of Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Okla., has instead signed with the Michigan Wolverines today.
"Ekpe has always liked Michigan," said Udoh's AAU coach Mitch Malone of Texas Blue Chips. "They were the only school he visited, and they've been on him for a while."

Udoh, a 6-foot-9, 215-pound power forward, also picked up offers from Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Oklahoma State and Purdue.
Udoh, who averaged 11 points and 8 rebounds per game during his senior season while struggling with injuries, has his best basketball ahead of him.
"Ekpe has a good upside," said Malone. "He can face the basket and moves well laterally. He needs to get stronger and pick up the intensity."
Udoh joins Deshawn Sims, K'len Morris and Anthony Wright in the Wolverines 2006 recruiting class.
Ekpe Udoh scouting report:
A long presence inside as a defender and rebounder, Udoh is developing more of an offensive game. He is capable of hitting the 15-foot face up jumper, and his back to the basket game should improve once he gets healthy and stronger.
