Dennis Felton left his head coach position at Western Kentucky for Georgia. Then WKU followed him to the Peach State to find a player. The Hilltoppers landed a verbal commitment from an underrated forward from Southwest Macon HS (GA) on late Tuesday night. We caught up with Michael Walker and discussed his decision to play for Darrin Horn and Co.

Walker, a 6-foot-6, 185 pound combo forward, knew after his visit to the Sun Belt school that he knew where he wanted to spend his collegiate future.
“It’s a big relief to get this behind me. I’m very excited to play there,” Walker said. “They just have a history of a winning record. They’ve been conference champs and they’ve been to the NCAA tournament. That just took me by storm.
“The players really embraced me and they're fun to be around. I think they can make me become more versatile of a player. They’ve got some big guys I can throw it into and watch them work or I can be the go to guy inside, too. I think everybody wins with me coming there.”
Walker was supposed to go to Tulane but decided to cancel the trip after the Green Wave picked up a verbal commitment from Matt Wheaton. That solidified WKU in Walker’s mind.
“That made it pretty easy to decide for me. After I made the visit (to WKU), I knew that’s where I was going to go,” Walker said.
