Wiry Forward Has 3 On List

Bennett Davis, a wiry 6-8, 205 pound power/combination forward from Milford Academy in Milford, Conn., displayed a fine all-around game this spring at AAU events.
A native of Freeport, Bahamas, Davis plays with the Miami Tropics. Before transferring to Milford Academy for the 2001-2002 school year, Davis had attended NW Christian H.S. in Miami.

At Milford this past season, Davis primarily played in the low post. Davis has been able to show a more diverse game, including the ability to step out and face the basket reliably out to midrange. He's light on his feet, uses the glass adroitly on his shots, but does not possess the handle requisite to play the three slot at the Division I level.
Davis told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that he has seen interest thus far from Clemson, Connecticut and Northeastern. Of course, former Miami Senior Head Coach Frank Martin is now an assistant coach at Northeastern, and while at Milford, Davis had a chance to unofficially visit the America East Conference school.
Davis averaged 15 points and nine rebounds this past season at Milford, where he should once again form a very formidable front line alongside St. John's recruit Lamont Hamilton.
Davis said he has a 3.1 GPA but fell short of attaining a qualifying ACT score on his first attempt. He plans to take the test again in the coming months.
This summer, Davis said he plans on attending the Nike All-American Camp and the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas.
