Winter risers: Which seniors could see their stock soar?

The early signing period is halfway through and the pool of available talent continues to shrink. This winter, who are some currently unranked prospects like athletic small forward Tevian Jones that could see their stock soar as programs look to unearth off-the-radar talent?

Offers: Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia, LaSalle, Long Beach State, Memphis and others.

Why his recruitment could take off: One of the most freakish athletes in the country, Bryant is a skywalker and big time transition finisher. He caught the eye of NBA star Russell Westbrook in Las Vegas over the summer and has the size and open floor tools to be a big upside guy.

Offers: South Florida.

Why his recruitment could take off: A combo forward who does a nice job on the glass, Calloo didn't have quite as big a summer as expected. However, at a place like Oak Hill he's going to get tons of exposure and word is he's carving himself out a niche as a rebounder and 15 foot and in scorer.

Offers: Florida Gulf Coast, Manhattan, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Vermont and others.

Why his recruitment could take off: One of Rivals.com's favorite players to watch all summer, Doherty is a physical forward with an incredible motor. Effort like his draws notice. He took a visit to Notre Dame last weekend.

Offers: Akron, Miami (Ohio), UMass, Northern Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Vermont and others.

Why his recruitment could take off: A one time VCU commitment, Easley is a combo forward who can shoot and has some versatility. When dialed in he has some similarities to current Butler star and former Rivals150 prospect Kelan Martin.

Offers: Butler, East Tennessee State, Xavier and others.

Why his recruitment could take off: James was a little overlooked sometimes playing alongside Zion Williamson over the summer. He's got a motor, good hands and can switch up and down a lineup defensively. He's currently on a visit to Xavier and James' recruitment could be nearing an end.

Offers: Illinois.

Why his recruitment could take off: Frankly, it's a it mystifying that some Pac 12 level program didn't snatch him up early. He's long, has good positional size and with his athleticism and developing jump shot has a chance to pay off in a big way. Illinois recently jumped in with an offer.

Offers: Rutgers, Seton Hall, Temple and others.

Why his recruitment could take off: There's not much size left out there and Manuel is a big and strong kid who doesn't mind getting physical. He has the tools to develop into a reliable upperclassmen who doesn't mind doing some of the dirty work.

Offers: Rice, Yale, William & Mary, Bowling Green, Miami (Ohio) and others.

Why his recruitment could take off: A dangerous shooter with terrific size, Peterson has drawn some high major interest from Michigan and Vanderbilt among others. He took one official visit to William & Mary but has four remaining to use. Once he adds strength in college he could be a pleasant surprise.

Offers: Charlotte, Nebraska, Memphis, Penn State, Tulsa, Virginia Tech and others.

Why his recruitment could take off: With limited size available, a guy like Thamba is already taking off. He's not yet much of a scorer in the low post but he has tremendous energy, sprints the floor, protects the rim and is a pest on the glass. He's got the type of energy that annoys opponents and makes coaches hearts flutter.

Offers: Mississippi State.

Why his recruitment could take off: The younger brother of Kentucky freshman P.J. Washington, he's a smooth wing who can really shoot the ball from deep. He's also big enough that he could play a stretch four in some situations. At Findlay Prep he'll get a chance to show what he can do against a big time schedule.
