According to Erik Jaklitsch, an assistant coach with the New York Elite AAU program who is helping Vanterpool sort things out, a number of prep schools have expressed interest.
"I could name about a dozen prep schools who are interested in him," said Jaklitsch, who mentioned Redemption Christian as one suitor. "We're just working to see what will be the best financial situation for him and where he will get the best education."
Vanterpool also mentioned Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York, as a Junior College program that is still being considered.
Vanterpool had previously achieved a qualifying SAT score of 820, but still needs to fulfill his core requirements.
