Winchendon Surges Past NMH

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The Winchendon School used a late game 12-1 surge to put away a feisty Northfield Mount Hermon club, 69-64, on Sunday afternoon at the 2nd Annual Hall of Fame H.S. Invitational.
With the game knotted at 45, Andres Sandoval kick started the run with a basket and pair of steals that led to scores on the offensive end.

Northeastern signee Dominik Stefanac knocked down a three pointer and midrange jumper in the surge, which gave the Green Wave a 57-46 lead with 2:58 remaining.
Northfield Mt. Hermon trailed 32-24 at the half, but rallied to deadlock the game at 45 with about seven minutes left.
Iowa State signee Curtis Stinson (right) led Winchendon with 21 points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals. Miami bound swingman Karron Clarke also had a productive outing for the Green Wave, registering 14 points and four assists.
Robert Taylor was one of three Hogger players to hit double figures. A 6-5 forward, Taylor collected 17 points and eight rebounds in defeat. Junior quickster Kashif Payne finished with 12 points and five assists, and small forward Cori Boston added 10 points and eight rebounds in defeat.
One of the Hoggers' best players, power forward/center Sam Manhanga, fouled out of the contest and managed just eight points and five rebounds.
