Winchendon Puts Clamps on Philly Lutheran

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- The Winchendon School led for much of its game on Sunday against Lutheran High School, nee Celestial Prep, but after falling behind midway through the second half, the Green Wave put the clamps on the Crusaders in an 84-75 victory.
Lutheran grabbed a 65-63 lead with 9:38 to play when 6-8 senior Omar Williams hit two of three free throws from the charity stripe.

Winchendon responded with a 21-5 run over the next eight minutes in building an 84-70 lead with 1:35 to play.
The entire Green Wave team got involved in the run, including Louisville bound Francisco Garcia, who scored six points in the spurt and capped it with a basket on the break.
Memphis native Clyde Wade scored 17 points to lead Winchendon's balanced attack. Curtis Stinson, a 6-2 junior from New York City, added 16 points and Garcia added 15. Aussie big man Martin Iti tallied six points a several blocked shots in the win.
Williams, who signed with George Washington in the fall, led Lutheran with 21 points. Zakee Boyd added 11 and Antwaun Miller 10 for the Crusaders.
