Winchendon Drops MCI

NEW HAMPTON, NEW HAMPSHIRE -- Corey Herring scored 30 points to lead Winchendon past MCI, 88-60, at a tournament held on the campus of New Hampton Prep.

Curtis Stinson added 23 points and had seven assists for Winchendon. This was indicative of the game. Winchendon displayed an unselfish offense and always made the extra pass to get the easy basket.

It was an eight point game with 8:57 to play so it was a close contest. However, Winchendon scored 17 straight points to blow open a tight contest to take a commanding 76-51 lead on a basket by Herring on a feed from Clyde Wade with 4:15 left in the game. In the run, Francisco Garcia, Wade, Stinson and Herring made contributions during this 17-0 streak.

Wade added 10 points, Demario Eddins had 12 and Garcia had nine points.

MCI was led by Daniel Rumph, who had 10 points. Jai Lewis added nine points along with Rodney Epperson who had nine.
