Williams: Three Running Neck and Neck

LAS VAGEAS, NEVADA -- Marcus Williams, a 6-1, 190 pound point guard from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., has three schools that have emerged as the leaders for his services.
Williams, who is playing here in Las Vegas at the adidas Big Time Tournament, told Rivalshoops.com that Georgia Tech, UConn and UCLA are his current top three schools.

In fact, RivalsHoops/com's number 33 player in the class of 2003 has pledged official visits this fall to both UConn and Georgia Tech. A native of Los Angeles who attended Crenshaw H.S. the past three years, Williams has had a chance to see the UCLA campus many times.
"I just like those three schools in particular," Williams said when asked why those colleges stood atop his list.
Maryland, North Carolina and N.C. State round out his list of six schools. Of those three, only N.C. State has offered.
Even though he has fall trips set up, Williams is thinking about making a spring decision.
A savvy floor leader who finds open teammates, Williams can also be a deadly three point marksman from the perimeter. What he lacks in quickness and athleticism, he makes up for with abundant qualities of smarts and awareness.
Smith kicked off the summer at the NBPA Camp in Richmond followed by the Nike All-American Camp in Indianapolis, and after the Big Time Tournament, he plans to wrap up the summer in Los Angeles at the Best of the Summer Tournament with Sports Express.
He will report to classes at Oak Hill on Sept. 2.
