Williams: Terrific In Transition

If there's one thing that Jason Williams of L.W. Higgins H.S. in Marrero, La., proved last spring and summer, it's that he can fill it up in fast paced transition.
While he's one of those guys who is hard to classify by a specific position, Williams leaks out on the break consistently and scores lots of cheapies in transition. That's not surprising since he has very good wheels and is a good athlete.

Williams, who played with both the New Orleans Hurricanes and the Gulf Coast Stars last year, told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that he recently qualified academically. He said he has a core GPA in the 2.5/2.6 range and scored a 17 on the ACT.
Williams said that many colleges are unaware of his current situation. Nicholls State and David Lipscomb are a pair of Division I schools who have contacted him this spring, while Boston College requested some film from his high school coach.
Many junior colleges, including Blinn (TX), Kilgore (TX), Howard (TX), Hutchinson (KS) and Southern Idaho have contacted Williams this winter/spring.
Williams will attend a talent showcase on Apr. 20 put on by Clifford Baptiste in the New Orleans area.
This past season at Higgins, he averaged 17.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, 8.5 assists, two steals and 1.5 blocks per game.
Williams hopes to make a spring time decision, and we will keep you posted on his recruitment, so stay tuned.
