As we reported earlier today, DeAaron Williams has given a commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers. He unofficially visited the campus this week and, once he returned home to speak with family and friends, decided Wisconsin was the best place to spend the next four years. “Yep, I’ve given a commitment to Wisconsin. I really liked everything about the school and it’s close to home,” Williams said. “I had a pretty good idea that Wisconsin was the school for me, but I wanted to visit the campus and make sure.
“When my dad and I returned home from the visit, I talked with my dad, mom, stepfather and coach. I made the decision, slept on it for one night and then realized my decision was final,” he added.”
Badger head coach Bo Ryan has done an excellent job, especially the last few years, with the talent he is bringing in. He fought off the likes of North Carolina and Kansas for Brian Butch, which was no easy task. Bringing in Williams is a great pickup for the staff.
“I really like Coach Ryan and the entire coaching staff,” Williams said. “They think I can come in right away and get some good playing time. They see me as being an athletic wing, but I will do whatever it takes to help this team win.
“Wisconsin is the school I will attend,” he added. “I plan on signing during the early signing period. I wanted to make an early decision about my future because I really wanted to focus on my senior year of high school basketball. Now that I’m headed to Wisconsin, I can do just that.”
