Kelvin Williams, a hard-working 6-5, 205 pound combo-forward from Cedar Hill (TX) High School, has made it official. He signed with Sam Houston State this past Tuesday.
The Bearkats had been involved with Williams from the start, and after the athletic lefty reflected back upon his trip to the Huntsville campus, he finalized his decision.

"They were up front from the beginning about the offer," said Cedar Hill assistant coach Eddie Berumen. "The visit clinched it for him. He got along with all the returning players really well. And he really likes Coach (Bob) Marlin."
Being part of a winning program was also a factor in Williams' choice. Sam Houston State offers that.
"They were in the 'dance' last year," said Berumen. "(Marlin) has had a winning record every year he's been there."
Williams will need to play more on the perimeter for Marlin and Sam Houston State than he did during his career at Cedar Hill, but he is up to the challenge. He is a good fit for the level of play in the Southland Conference and should see plenty of playing time as a freshman.
