Williams Lists a Number of Schools

Danny Williams, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound combo guard from Freemont High School in Los Angeles, Calif., wasn’t a big name outside of the West Coast before the spring evaluation events. But now he is because of his strong play and solid shooting at some of the top events last month.
“My game is improving over the last couple of months,” Williams said. “It’s been pretty up and down but it’s getting better. One day I’ll hit all of my jumpers. Other days, I won’t score anything. I’m getting the kinks out now.”

The kinks must have not been very big. The 25 point per game scorer shot the ball with very little trouble at the Las Vegas Easter Classic and the Kingwood Classic. Williams also knows how to run an offense as a point guard. He said being a floor general is easy with the talent at his disposal with the H-Squad AAU team.
“It helps a whole lot having (this team),” Williams said. “I love having Terrence Williams on my team. He’s awesome. Rashad Austin - you just throw it down there to him and it’s two points. Same thing for Andrew Green. Joe Darger is money. When we get Mark Hill, I’ll move back to the two guard spot. I can’t wait.”
Williams said he hasn’t physically heard from schools but says his mailbox is a popular place for letters. USC, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Miami (Fla.), Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State, Alabama and Pepperdine have all send mail to him and he expects to see his recruitment increase after the month of July. He will also take the SAT in June.
On an interesting side note, Williams said he is also being recruited on the football field as a wide receiver and quarterback. He’s flirting with the idea of playing both at the college level.
In the busy summer months, Williams will make stops at the ABCD camp in New Jersey, the Pangos All-American camp and several other team tournaments. Williams will be in the Raleigh-Durham area next week for the Tournament of Champions.
