Williams finds Ivy League home

Adrian Williams had a decision to make about his college basketball future. Would he pursue a high-profile program, academics or both? On Wednesday, the combo guard from Wheeler High School in Marietta, Ga., found his answer.
The 6-foot-1 guard verbally committed to Brown after considering schools from all levels. Williams said he found a comfort level at the Providence, R.I. school.

"They are a program on the rise," Williams said. "There is a good opportunity for me to come there and make an impact as a freshman."
Williams also considered Dartmouth, Air Force, Princeton and Cornell. Knowing he would find a great education at any of the schools, he looked for a style of play that would best suit him.
"They said they play like the Sacramento Kings and they see me like their Mike Bibby," Williams said. "No other school could explain how they saw me in their system or where they saw me in their future. But (Brown) did and they knew what they wanted from me."
Williams set a county record with 11 three-pointers made in a game against Lassiter High School on Tuesday. The three-star guard has enjoyed a strong senior season up to this point and he'll have his hands full on Saturday when he and his Wheeler teammates take on American Christian (Pa.) in the Atlanta Prime Time Tour.
