Williams Cuts List To 3

Jon Williams, a husky 6-8, 235 pound power forward from St. Cloud Apollo H.S. in St. Cloud, Minn., has narrowed his focus to three colleges.
Williams told Rivalshoops.com that he has been offered by all three of his finalists -- St. John's, Miami (FL) and Minnesota.

Right now, St. John's and Miami are leading the Golden Gophers in Williams' recruiting process.
"It's basically been a long, long process, and St. John's and Miami have been there from the beginning," he said. "Minnesota came into the process late."
One thing that could help the Hurricanes is the fact that Williams' mom lives about two hours from the Miami campus. Williams lives with his uncle in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
"It would be a good thing to be close to my mom, but she's supportive of wherever I am going to go," Williams said. "Whether it's St. John's, Miami, or back here in Minnesota, too. But she would love to see me at home."
Minnesota is scheduled to visit with Williams at St. Cloud Apollo next Monday, Sept. 9. St. John's and Miami are also expected to come out to Minnesota this fall.
Williams said he is tentatively scheduled to visit Miami for the Hurricanes' football game against Florida State the weekend of Oct. 12. He also expects to visit St. John's in October, and he's not sure if he will officially visit Minnesota. Being near the Twin Cities, Williams has already unofficially tripped to Golden Gopher land.
Williams impressed Rivalshoops.com with his strong play back at the Rumble in the Bronx Tournament at Fordham University back in June. At that event, he played with Howard Pulley's B squad, but he was bumped up to the top squad for the Panthers' June events.
We will keep you posted on any more trips that Williams sets up in the weeks to come, so stay tuned!
