Marcus Williams, a 6-1, 190 pound point guard from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., loved his unofficial visit to UCONN so much he made a verbal commitment to head coach Jim Calhoun's program.

Williams was down to two schools -- Georgia Tech and Connecticut. A native of Los Angeles who attended Crenshaw H.S. the past three years, Williams previously mentioned Maryland, North Carolina and N.C. State. But Williams decided between Connecticut and Georgia Tech.
Williams is a smart floor leader. He rarely finds himself in a tough position on the court -- meaning Williams doesn't trap himself in the corners or give his defenders an advantage when he handles the ball.
Williams can also be a deadly three point marksman from the perimeter. What he lacks in great quickness and athleticism, he overcomes with abundant qualities of smarts and awareness.
