Williams a Physical Specimen

Chris Williams, an athletic 6-6, 225 pound power forward from Hill J.C. in Hillsboro, Tex., should be one of the better sophomore prospects in the Texas JUCO ranks this winter.
A lot of people remember Williams from a few years back, when he played on an excellent high school team at Cedar Hill H.S. (along with current Michigan freshman Daniel Horton), and toured during the spring and summer with Mitch Malone's Texas Blue Chip program.

Williams' m.o. hasn't changed much in the past two years. A ruggedly built forward with good springs, Chris still does the majority of his damage around the basket.
According to Hill Head Coach Todd Neighbors, TCU and New Orleans came in this fall to take a look at Williams, while Miami has also called to express some interest.
Williams had a productive freshman year at Hill, but at the recent Mullen/Mitchell JUCO Jamboree in Texas, he didn't bring a consistent intensity to each game. If he can ratchet it up a notch for his sophomore campaign, he could be a hot commodity come the spring.
The one big potential sticking point with Chris could be his grades. According to Coach Neighbors, Williams may be tight on graduation.
Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on Williams this winter and into the spring signing period, so stay tuned.
