Wilkes Talks About His Decision

Jordan Wilkes, the 6-foot-10, 205-pound center from Loyola High School in Los Angeles, Calif., wont be traveling too far away from home after his high school career comes to an end. The No. 80 ranked player in the class of 2005 has given a commitment to California and will join his brother, Omar Wilkes, after next year.
“I actually made my decision early on Friday,” Jordan Wilkes said. “It was an extremely tough decision, but I feel that California is the best fit for me. They have a great coaching staff and great academics. Stanford, UCLA and Washington are three great programs, but I just feel that California offers me everything I am looking for in a school.”

Wilkes also indicated that playing along side his brother for three years also played a part in his decision. While the No. 5 ranked center in the class of 2005 stated that being on the same campus with Omar for three years was not the determining factor, it did play a role in his decision.
“I am excited and glad that I will be playing with my brother in college,” Wilkes said. “Omar really wanted what was best for me, but I know he is excited about this as well. I don’t think it will really hit either of us until were on campus together, but my family is really excited about this.”
