Why Maurice Ager Chose Michigan State

Maurice Ager, a 6-4, 175-pound combo guard from Crockett Tech High in Detroit, Michigan, fooled the "experts" and chose Michigan State over Missouri. Websites like CBS Sportsline had indicated Ager was going to Missouri.
"I chose Michigan State because it was close to home," Ager said. "I wanted to play in front of my family."

Ager, who averaged 23 points and four assists last season as a junior, also felt he could make an impact right away for the Spartans. "I think I can help them do a couple of things right away as a freshman," Ager said. "I can score for them and I can get others involved too with my passing."
Ager said he plans on playing at the tournament in Las Vegas next week. "I am going to work on my strength," Ager said. "I want to add about 10-15 more pounds before I get to the college level."
