Shane Power, a 6-5, 210-pound forward from Iowa State, told us he plans on having a final list of schools by next week. Power, a native of Crown Point, Ind., announced the was transferring two weeks ago.
Power started all 31 games last season, averaging 13.6 ppg and 4.5 rpg. Power was a honorable mention all-Big 12 pick. "I visited New Mexico," Power said. "I will probably visit South Carolina. I am also interested in Virginia, Notre Dame and Mississippi State."
There are other schools too that might jump into this race for Power, who led Iowa State in steals with 37. We will keep you posted if any other schools try to get seriously involved.
"I am still open now," Power said. "But I would like to have a set list sometime next week."
Power was also second on the team in assists with 73. "I got along great with the coaches at New Mexico," Power said. "I had a very good time. I enjoyed meeting the players too. I related well to both the coaches and players."
