Whitehead does best to match hype

MORE: Abu's offers run the gamut
Even before he had played a high school game, Isaiah Whitehead was touted as the next big thing out of New York City.

Now a rising senior at Brooklyn (N.Y.) Lincoln, the 6-foot-4 combo guard has done an admirable job of living up to the hype.
A five-star prospect, Whitehead is as natural a scorer as there is in the class of 2014. His body is built to handle contact on drives, he can hit midrange jumpers, and his shot from deep is much improved. As his video shows, he is always in attack mode, he is very strong with the ball, and he has creativity with his scoring.
The subject of a hotly contested recruiting battle, Whitehead told Rivals.com that Louisville, Minnesota, St. John's, Syracuse and UCLA are recruiting him the hardest.
Whitehead will hit the travel circuit with the Juice All-Stars one last time before deciding whether he will sign in the fall or wait until the late signing period in the spring of 2014.
